The face behind Common Sense

With more than twenty years of experience in production, leadership and operational management, I have learned that processes only really work when the people who work with them are involved.

From planner to plant manager, from quality manager to operations manager and from team leader to ISO coordinator, I have experienced all layers of an organization. What has always stuck with me is that the best improvements come from the knowledge and ideas of people in the workplace. Listening, collaborating and implementing practical solutions provide the most results.

With Common Sense, I use my experience to support companies in improving processes and increasing efficiency, always with an eye for the people who do the work. Practical, effective and people-oriented.

As operations manager, Tom ensured that processes were optimized so that orders could be processed by the organization in a smooth and timely manner.

We saw that orders were becoming increasingly complex and that timings were getting shorter.

To name an example: the tax letters that we printed, personalized and enveloped for FPS Finance required a very strict follow-up to meet the tight timings that were imposed on us.

Tom ensured that the processes were smoothly coordinated and that sufficient staff was available so that the letters were always delivered to citizens on time.

In addition, he ensured that ISO 14298 (international standard for secure printing) was implemented at Joos. Tom maintained the standard and supervised the audit every year so that this standard could always be successfully renewed at Joos.
